Jesus was killed by Roman soldiers. The Roman governor abdicated his responsibility to set Jesus free. The Jewish leaders condemned Jesus for claiming to be the Son of God. Judas handed Jesus over to the Jewish leaders for trial. On more than one occasion crowds of Jews tried to kill Jesus. There are many reasons why Jesus died. The only real reason that matters is that I have offended God with my rebellion against his Holy Law. So have you. I needed Jesus to die or else I would still be responsible for my sin and my guilt.
