From the Great Commission to administering the Sacraments. Is Jesus the second Moses? There are many who look at Jesus’ commands and see him as the second Law Giver – just like Moses. We’ll take a closer look at Jesus’ instruction in the gospels and see if there is a difference in what he instructs us to do compared to the rest of Scripture.
This Advent and Christmas we’ll do a little American church history and see how the holiday has been celebrated since the days of the colonies. We’ll walk through the centuries and see how the festival of Christmas has changed, not always for the better, not always for the worse. Each lesson we’ll see what our God has to say about Christmas.
How can joy be completed? John describes this as his goal in his first letter. The Apostle John was known as the disciple whom Jesus loved. John was inspired to write a biography of Jesus and a Revelation that offers visions of heaven itself and the end of the world. For this Bible study we will focus on the three letters John wrote to the ancient church.
