Marriage is spoken so highly in the Scriptures that our God uses it as an example of Jesus and his love for the church. That high bar sets the stage for a study of God’s plan for marriage. This six lesson course takes couples through the basics of God’s roadmap for marriage.. Topics covered include:
- God’s Plan- God’s Gift of Marriage — what marriage is, covenant/promises, companionship, children, sexuality, permanence, forgiveness
- Role with It- Love Like Christ — headship, submission, sacrificial love, mutual service, decision-making
- Communicate- Speak the Truth in Love — listening, conflict, anger, confession, forgiveness, digital communication
- Coping with Character- Two Sinners, One Savior — personality, expectations, habits, family background, repentance, grace
- Stewardship- Building a Life Together — faith, church, money, debt, work, time, in-laws, household responsibilities
- Sex is God’s Idea- One Flesh: God’s Gift of Sex & Family — intimacy, expectations, consent/mutuality, pornography, fertility, children, contraception, infertility
- Wedding Planning- Keep God at the Center of Your Big Day — vows, promises, hymns, readings, music
