I AM – The Way The Truth and The Life takes us to the night Jesus was betrayed. Jesus only had a few more hours with his disciples. He is all any of us will ever need.
Jesus is many things, but sometimes who he is can be a little confusing. Did Jesus come down from heaven to live a perfect life so that we would have a perfect example to follow? I suppose so. It’s good to have an example to follow, but we need so much more.
If all we do is focus on living a perfect life. That can be crushing. On the night that Jesus was betrayed you’ll note that in the conversation about getting to heaven no where does Jesus say you need to try harder. Jesus reminds them and yes, comforts them, with the reality that he is the one who will take care of all the details.
Jesus was going to the Father. GREAT! That’s where all of us want to be one day is in glory, right next to our God. How do we get there?
- Jesus tells us all about it – this is his plan.
- Jesus is going to prepare a place for each of us – you are not forgotten.
- Jesus will come back and take us to be with him – we can’t mess it up!
So what are we supposed to do between now and heaven? Live for Jesus. He tells us how he wants us to live, not because we have to, but because that’s his plan for our lives. AND if we follow his plans our lives will be blessed for it!
