Angels and Demons 10 – Victory is the final in our series on angel beings. We’ve see the good, the bad, and the very ugly. We finish with a reminder of who’s really in charge.
I start the study with a look at three different dates.
Those were all dates when conflicts started for the American Civil War, World War 1 and World War 2. Those conflicts were enormous, life-changing conflicts that changes the face of the world.
While we don’t know the actual date for the start of the physical and spiritual conflict between God and the devil, we do know when it happened. God recorded the event in Genesis 3. This was the first declaration of the gospel. It involved the seed of the woman crushing the head of the serpent. The serpent would get a swipe at the heel, but there was no doubt about the end of the conflict.
Jesus the hero of this fight and really the only one who fought the battle entered the flight not in an amphibious assault vehicle, but in a manger. Yes, you heard that brilliant plan. Send in the baby! To understand the wisdom of this plan, you’ll need to understand that the battle field was a would full of souls. There was sin an guilt galore. No one could keep God’s law so God sent in Jesus to live a perfect life and die an innocent death in our place. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of world. When Jesus died on the cross he cried out, “It is finished!” You’ll note that he didn’t say that he was finished. The “IT” was the battle. God won the battle. The victory is sure because it doesn’t involve us!
