The Last Day

The Last Day is the end of almost everything. It’s the end of the world – not just as we know it, as anyone has ever known it. There is nothing left! It’s over. How do you feel? Does the day make you quake in your boots? We’ll look at all things The Last Day this morning. Spoiler – you can feel just fine 👍

Trust Me I Know

I want to talk about the timing of the Last Day.  When exactly will it happen?  There are many who think they have a good idea of when the world will end.  Some of those people thing that God has told them the date.  Maybe they had a vision from God.  Or possibly, after intense study, they have finally cracked the code that EVERYONE else missed.  They have found in the Bible when exactly the world will end.

MFI is one such group.  The world will end in 2026 by a comet.  HERE is a list of others.  It’s a long list.

Save the Planet

There is another group of people who think that they know when the world will end.  This has nothing to do with God, mind you.  It has everything to do with saving the planet.  As we discussed in our lesson this summer on the environment, Christians have plenty in common with those who want to conserve the environment.  The big difference is that we don’t worship the earth.  The Climate Clock is one example of needless alarmism.

The problem with all of these lists is that Jesus tells us that no one will know when the world will end.  SO if someone says to you that they do know, that would be a red flag that they are either lying or terribly mistaken.  It’s possible to be sincerely wrong.
