Taboo – The Divorced

Taboo – The Divorced concludes our marriage Bible study by addressing one of the most sensitive topics in the church: life after divorce. While we’ve spent the past several weeks exploring God’s design for marriage, the dangers that threaten it, and biblical teaching on divorce, our final session focuses on an equally important question: What does God think about the divorced?

Loved By God

For many people, divorce carries deep feelings of grief, regret, shame, anger, or loneliness. Some wonder if God could still love them. Others question whether they have a place in the church or if their past will always define them. The good news of the gospel is that our identity is never found in our failures but in Jesus Christ.

What does Scripture says about forgiveness, restoration, and hope. Jesus responded to broken sinners with both truth and grace, refusing to minimize sin while offering the full forgiveness that he won through his death and resurrection. We’ll also discuss how the Christian church can lovingly support those who have experienced the pain of divorce and how God continues to use imperfect people for his kingdom.

I’m Not Married

Whether you are happily married, divorced, widowed, single, or simply want to better understand God’s heart for those who are hurting, this study is for you. You can encourage those hurting around you with God’s love.  He promises that no sin places a repentant sinner beyond his mercy.  Nothing can separate God’s children from his love in Christ Jesus.  God’s design for marriage is beautiful but, even more importantly, God’s unfailing grace for the broken.

To recap our study of marriage:

  • Living together before marriage – God’s Design
  • Marriage is work – God’s Purpose
  • Avoid adultery – God’s Warning
  • When friends cheat – God’s Compassion
  • Divorce – God’s Permission in Tragedy
  • Life After Divorce – Gods Restoration
