“Hail the day that see him rise!” In the historical church there were three high festivals of the church year. Christmas – the birth of our king. Easter – the resurrection of our king. Ascension – the coronation of our king. Join us as we worship our king who rules all things for the good of his church.
What do you do when your plans fall through? We’ve been asking this question all Easter! By the grace of God he opens our hearts to hear his words. This Sunday we celebrate the coronation of our king! It’s Ascension Sunday. We will join our voices to the disciples in praise.
Hail the day that sees him rise! It’s Ascension! There have been three historical festivals in the Christian church. Christmas is the birth of the King. Easter is the resurrection of the King. Ascension is the coronation of the King. Come this Sunday and celebrate the victory of our God!
How can there be new life if Jesus isn’t with us? The truth is that even though he has ascended into heaven that doesn’t mean that we are left alone. He promised to send us his Spirit and where ever we gather in his name – there he is! He is with us even though he is in heaven.
It’s Ascension! Jesus our King took his throne in glory at the Right Hand of the Father. He may have gone into heaven, but he has not left us alone. He is with us until the very end of the age!
Ascension may see to be a curious church holiday. Why would the church celebrate Jesus’ physical presence leaving the planet?! How does that help? Wouldn’t life be better with Jesus roaming the planet stopping wars and curing disease? Watch and see how even though Jesus is gone, we are not alone.
