Today we celebrate moms! God accomplishes so many blessings through our mothers. In our message we will go back in time to an ancient church that faced a death. When Jesus rose from the dead he didn’t stop all death; he took away the sting. Today we’ll look at what it means that death has lost it’s sting. We have No Fear of Death.
“The Church shall never perish. Her dear Lord, to defend, To guide, sustain, and cherish, Is with her to the end.” We continue our series One Foundation on Sunday under the theme: The Church Will Stand Forever. It might not look that way, but this is the promise from our God. He can’t break his promise to the church or to you personally. Join us as we see how great God’s love is for his people.
When (Jesus) saw the crowds, he had compassion on them. What was the problem? They were like sheep without a shepherd. What was the solution? Send out the shepherds. Jesus send his disciples to serve God’s people with the word. The dual focus this Sunday is on helping hurting people with the gospel of forgiveness in Jesus and sending people to do that work. We continue our sermon series Witnesses for Christ under the theme: Witness through Compassion.
The battle wages on. The first Sunday in Lent God calls us to resist temptation. We continue our Lenten sermon series: Cross Examination this week. This Sunday we hear our Lord ask, “Will You Really Lay Down Your Life for Me?”
If you’re going to build a house, you have to secure the loan. If you’re going on a trip, most people make sure they have enough money for food and lodging. This morning God is asking us to consider the cost of being his disciples. In this final sermon from our series – Weeks of Warning – we will consider just how much God is asking of us as we bear our cross for him through life.
