Can we be friends again? The reality is that sometimes relationships in this life can be so completely damaged that they can’t be fixed. How does God restore relationships? Every sin that we commit doesn’t just hurt the people around us. Our sin first is an offense against our holy God. This Sunday we ask, “Lord, Increase our faith!” We will see how God works reconciliation.
Should I Stay or Go
Should we stay or go? That is the question the people of the world wrestled with shortly after the flood. They settled on staying, against God’s wishes for the purpose of making a name for themselves. Our love God confused their languages and they scattered across the world. This language barrier was undone on that first Pentecost that started the New Testament church. That harvest festival continues today as we share God’s word with anyone who will listen.
Sinful pride can fill the heart of a Christian to the brim. This doesn’t leave much room for God’s love. We continue our series this Sunday – Weeks of Warning: Humility.
Know Your Place
Pride is all around us these days. From Olympic and professional athletes to politicians running for public office, it isn’t difficult to find the proud. This Sunday God wants us to look to our own hearts and warns against pride. Jesus calls us to humbly serve those in need.
Don’t get in the way!
We are gifted for ministry. The trouble comes with our sin. There is jealousy, pride and despair among the people of God. Sometimes the trouble with the ministry of the church are the ministers! We get in the way of God’s work. See how God steps in with his mercy!
