This Sunday we had a chance to meet Jairus. This Synagogue Ruler who lived in Jesus day would’ve done anything to find help for his dying daughter. All he needed was Jesus, the Master Physician.
What does it mean to really live? I don’t think we need to hang off the front of the Titanic and feel the wind race through our hair to really live. Jesus tell us that he has life. One day, on the Last Day, life will destroy death for good. Join us as we take a glimpse into eternity on Saints Triumphant Sunday.
Jesus may fall into the category of a look alike simply because he does so many things well. Never sell Jesus short on the one and only thing he can do – save us from our sins.
“What are you doing? What is going on?!” Why was a crowd pushing this man to the front. He didn’t know what was going on. He couldn’t hear. Jesus shows his compassion here by taking the man away from the crowd and healing him. This wasn’t a sideshow; this was a child of God who needed to be helped.
When John pointed to Jesus as the Lamb of God, everyone knew what he meant. Much of that meaning has been lost over the year. Watch and see what the Lamb of God has done for you!
How great would it be if Jesus was walking around today? Would we vote for him as President? Would he help the medical field with his miracles? How many hungry people could be fed by his power? These questions are fun to consider, but they betray the reason Jesus had to leave. It has to do with the Holy Spirit.
