Child of Abraham
“Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. To those Jews who kicked him out of the synagogue, that’s quite the declaration. Zaccheus is a son of Abraham. He’s legit. The Apostle Paul in Romans 4 reminds everyone that it isn’t just those people in the world who have the blood of Abraham, it’s all those who have the faith of Abraham. Abraham has no idea just how grand the promise to Abraham truly was when he said Abe would be the father of many nations. This is the ultimate rehabilitation of Zach’s reputation.
He Never Forgot
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Jesus is STILL seeking the lost. Four years ago there was an interesting cultural moment I want to bring up. If you are late 20s, you probably know this guy. This is Steve Burns the host of Blue’s Clues. He walked little ones through thinking and solving and then one day he was gone. But in 2001 he posted THIS video.
Young men were weeping at the sight of Steve saying he never forgot them. It was a little drop of joy that brought them to tears. All it was, was a piece of their childhood that was fun. Jesus has never forgotten you. He is relentless in seeking the lost, and so – so are we. It is the highest joy to be found, and I’m tell you there is nothing better than joining with Jesus on his mission to seek the lost.
