Cause and Effect – Reign and Safety

Cause and Effect – Reign and Safety is a long look at our King.  On this final Sunday of the church year we will see that Jesus controls all things for the good of his church.

Hold It Together

17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Before all things – that’s old, yes before the world – there was God. How does everything hold together? How does the perpetual motion machine work? The earth spins on its axis and it spins around the sun and the moon spins around the earth. And the sun spins around the galaxy. Galaxies spin around the universe. THIS is the swinging sticks – if you purchase a good one of these, it will do this for two years on the same batteries. All of the laws of nature – everything holds together because Christ the King will it to do so – INCLUDING your life. I know I’ve said this many times, but this is Christ the King’s church; I just work here. What do I do when there is a trouble or crisis with a family that I can’t solve – which is pretty much every problem? I pray.

Hands and Feet

18 And he is the head of the body, the church; fellow subjects of the king we get to help! We are the hands and feet of our Savior. People see the love of God when they look at us!

He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. Death has brought low every man that has ever walked the earth – every man except Jesus. One day God will end the world. When he does so, the perpetual motion machine that is creation will stop. The dead will be raised and there will be a reckoning before Christ the King, the one who holds supremacy over everything.
