Cause and Effect – Resurrection and Hope takes us to the pearly gates. You’ll get to see what’s inside – not because you’re good enough. You get into heaven because of God’s mercy.
What Happens?
What happens when we die? There are some like the Jehovah’s Witnesses who say that those who do not know God just go into nothingness, annihilation. Sadly they wish that were true. We are body and soul. On the day that we die, God says that we are judged. A man is destined to die once and then face the judgment. From that point on our soul is either in heaven or hell. On the Last Day our soul and, a now glorified body will be reunited.
This means that Ron, Munir, and Kelly are with their Lord and they are alive. We know that because, 38He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.” Your loved one is looking forward to seeing you again.
How can we be sure?
How can we know that is true? Jesus said many fantastic things during his three year ministry. None was greater than I’m going to rise from the dead. That’s quite the claim! The historical fact of the resurrection means that Jesus can keep his promise. When he promises that you will be protected and that his open hand provides for all of your needs, you can believe it! What about those sins that we wish we could hide even deeper in our hearts? You don’t need to. We confess them and they are absolved, forgiven. His death on the cross paid for every sin you did commit and every sin that you will commit. By trusting in Jesus, God doesn’t see the evil in our soul. It’s gone. All God sees is Jesus’ perfection. Jesus promises in the Gospel of John, I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me will live even though he dies and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Cause and Effect is a powerful thing. The Cause is the resurrection from the dead. The Effect is hope for your soul.
