You Will Live Forever – No Fear of Judgment is the second in our End Times sermon series. Can you actually look forward to the Last Day? Our God says that we can! Here’s why…

Heavenly Conversation

Jesus, right now the Bible tells us, is standing before God interceding for us. Can you imagine how that conversion goes?

What’s that God the Father? Pastor Fred did what? Again? Yes, I paid for that one too. Look on him as your perfect holy child for my sake.

Why? How can Jesus do this? Is it because he doesn’t know me? I know my sin; does Jesus really know what I’m like? This is the rub against Judgment Day with some of us. How can I look forward to the Last Day when I have never once looked forward to facing the principal, a police officer, the judge. Facing judgment for my deeds isn’t my idea of a good time. That’s the first reason many people don’t look forward to the Last Day – fear of judgment.

27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, Most of us won’t have to wait until the Last Day. Just as Jesus died once for all people, we will die once – at the moment we die, we are judged, and more importantly we are taken to heaven. That means there is nothing wrong with a Christian looking forward to the day he dies.

Totally Wrong

That ALSO means the other views in the world of death are totally wrong. Annihilation is a lie – you don’t just cease to exist. There is no purgatory – it’s not in the Bible. Reincarnation is REALLY misunderstood. First of all is a curse not a cool loophole. Secondly it’s a lie. You won’t get a second chance.

Let me give you two more reasons why people don’t look forward to the Last Day. I think people look around and they don’t see justice in our courts, in natural disasters, in everyday life. Our sinful world is not fair. Would you want to meet God when you are angry with him? Joia Simpson, 19, I have a 19-year-old, fell off of a tenth story balcony at a University of St. Thomas Halloween party. How is that just and fair?! Many people – most of them are not Christian – don’t believe justice possible and can’t look forward to the Last Day.
